Susan Lenart Kazmer is a mixed media, found object and metals artist and award winning jewelry designer. Susan’s ground-breaking techniques and fresh approach to cold-connections will uncover a world of new options that will inspire mixed-media artists and jewelers. Her work has been included in museum exhibits throughout the country such as the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., Art Institute in New York, and the Huntington Museum of Art to name a few. Post Picasso Gallery includes Susan's work in, The Best of 2004. She is recently involved with the American Fine Craft Council and received the 2006 award of “Most innovative use of the medium” from Robert Lui of Ornament Magazine. Susan’s recent work includes a series of framed circus performers with removable and wearable jewelry. Laurie Mika is a mixed-media artist with a passion for combining and overlapping a variety of mediums creating an original style of mixed-media mosaics using handmade polymer clay tile. Her passion for travel to far off places and her experiences of living abroad (East Africa) have shaped the way her art looks today, especially since her work is embellished with the many found objects gleaned during her travels. Laurie shares her distinct style teaching at national and internationally recognized art retreats like ArtFest, Art Unraveled, Art and Soul, Raevn’s Nest and Hacienda Mosaico in Mexico. Her work also appears in books: 400 Polymer Clay Designs, Mosaic Art and Style, New Techniques for Wearable Art, Beyond Paper Dolls, Taking Flight, Interactive Art Workshop and Mixed Mania. Her own book, Mixed Media Mosaics, published by North Light Books (F&W Publications) was released in 2007. It has received rave reviews on Amazon. In new media, Laurie was interviewed on HeartsArt Radio, Go-Make-Art in Australia and for Abbey of the Arts. She also did the cover art for their publication, Presence. Laurie also appeared in a segment for Indie Arts DVD as a guest artist. In television, Laurie was featured on both HGTV’s, Crafter’s Coast to Coast and on DIY networks, Craft Lab. Aside from the many paintings and pieces of furniture that have been privately commissioned, Laurie has sold work at Trios Gallery in Solana Beach, Carlsbad Village Faire Gallery in Carlsbad and the Next Door Gallery in San Diego. She has also participated in many group shows including Designer's Workshop, Designer's Showcase, Carmel Valley Artists, Artwear, Artisans Del Mar, Talmadge Art Show, Art in the Burbs, Artwalk, and The Society of American Mosaic Artists show, Earth Elements, in Miami, Florida. Currently she is participating in an annual show, Dia de los Muertos, at The Next Door Gallery and at The ArtBar in Santa Ana, California. Laurie’s mixed-media mosaics have been included in many group shows and galleries. She was featured on both HGTV and DIY networks. Her work has also been published in numerous books and magazines. Her own book, Mixed Media Mosaics, was published by North Light Books in 2007. These days, Laurie spends a lot of time on the road teaching and sharing her passion for polymer clay!
Judy Wise has been working professionally She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Arizona State University in 1972 and attended Portland State University in 1977-78, The Oregon College of Art and Craft 1978-79 and The Pacific Northwest Collegeof Art 1983-84. Judy showed at Gango Gallery in 1993-94 and taught at Portland Community College 1994-95. Her work has been featured on greeting cards, calendars, educational materials and tapestries. Judy Wilkenfeld is a mixed media artist from Sydney Australia. Judy’s use of symbolism is tantamount to her art pieces. Through the use of textures, found objects and mixed media techniques, Judy conveys the stories behind the lives of those within the anthology. Kelsey's hails from Perth, WA and teaches regularly at Scraptivate in Perth, along with workshops interstate. With a background in costume design/making Kelsey found the world of paperarts - atc's specifically and "my safe little fabric world changed forever" Stamps, inks, acrylic paints, pictures, german scrap, brads, eyelets, distressing, grunge, metal doo-dads.....in fact anything that can be glued or stuck or stapled is fair-game!!!
Elizbeth is a feltmaker and textile artist from Melbourne and has worked as a full time artist and taught felt workshops for several years. Elizabeth is now also 'Artist in Residence' at several schools across Melbourne. .Elizabeth has had been featured in several galleries including a one woman show in Seoul 2007 as well as multiple exhibitions at the Lumina Gallery in Malvern East.
