Bring your journals or blank books with sturdy pages and join Judy in
a day of exploration and fun.
You'll start right off with a series of exercises geared to break down
the wall of resistance when faced with a blank page. Then you'll experiment
with paint, monoprint and water soluble crayons; stencils, stamp pads,
sumi ink, collage and various acrylic mediums.
Explore hand drawn letter forms and consider composition and placement
of words and images, discuss what the journal can do and how ypu can
use it as a springboard to other projects.
This will be a fast moving class for all levels. Judy will cover all
of her favorite journaling techniques and send each student home with
new skills to keep them inspired and renewed.

Technique Twinchie Canvas
Four Vacancies only
Learn several techniques that be be used in your art
from canvas's to ATCs, even cards, that you will then make into a nine
twinchie canvas.
Covering:
Tissue Paper Backgrounds, Sheer Heaven Transfers,
Faux Tin Types and Faux Metal Foil Tape you will take home loads of
ideas along with your finished canvas.

Shadow Box Shrines

Skill Level: All Levels Note
Polymer clay is the perfect medium forcreating these three dimensional
mosaic shrines.
In this technique driven class, students will be making all of the
component parts of their shrines by stamping into clay and making expressive
tiles that reflect their own personalities.

These
shrines have a small recessed area where a little three dimensional
object can be placed. This space also creates another opportunity to
explore additional mixed media techniques.
We will cover rubber-stamping, painting, embedding, collage, transfers,
embossing, beading and mosaicing.

Skill Level: All Levels Note: 2 Day Workshop

This hands on workshop offered in a 2 day format offers many ground breaking techniques from creating hand made hollow bezel forms from wire, sheet metal and filling pierced recesses. Ideas for images, text, layering, and creating colorful stone like textures from organic material such as sand, pepper and crushed powders. Learn proper application andsafety tips for resin.
Day One: Create layers of extraordinary translucent pages using a collection of new ideas and techniques in Susan’s new work. Use altered transfers, tissue and pages to layer, bind and finish an extraordinary, personal journal.
Other techniques include rubs, burnings, oil pastel and colored pencil techniques. Use of found object bezels, mixing and pouring of resins, collage, assemblage, use of color with resin.
Learn to cast charms, objects and figurative piecesusing flexible rubber molding compound that allows for many undercuts. Pulling your resin charm from your mold is just the first step. Now turn them into dimensional, interesting elements.
Learn clean up and finishing secrets such as Patinas for making the details stand out, sanding without creating a cloudy surface and drilling tips. Work with a superior non- toxic jeweler’s grade resin that will never yellow in time. 
Create layers of extraordinary translucent papers in jewelry using a collection of new ideas and techniques in freestanding paper and resins. Learn rubs, burnings, oil pastel and colored pencil techniques. Make charms for jewelry, journal or home embellishments.
Students will take home a few molds, complete a handful of finished charms, handmade bezels, and jewelry pieces.
